(VISION) How To Maximise Productivity And Defeat Procrastination

Are you a procrastinator? Do you put things off? Are you willing to leave important tasks to the last minute and substitute them with activities that satisfy your immediate desires?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then perhaps you are aware that feeling like you have failed is a lonely experience, but knowing you could have prevented failure is an entirely different realm of personal pain. But how can you stop  this from happening? Below are my suggestions on how to improve the quality of your time and prioritise your goals over your immediate desires.

Suggestion 1:
Write down your priorities -  The problem with holding things in your head is that they do not exist physically. Writing your aims down is a way of making your goals tangible as well as establishing a structure for your day.

Suggestion 2:
Utilise social media to your advantage!
Sadly, this does not involve posting your favourite selfie with your habitual hashtags - although I am one hundred percent guilty of this (#gainz).
If you follow me on snapchat (lewiswedlock97) then you will know I am a stickler for this. I let my followers know what I am doing so that I hold myself accountable.  I find that when people know what I plan to do then it makes me a lot more motivated to do it.

Suggestion 3:
Make time for yourself
We are social beings, we need some form of contact! So isolating yourself and becoming a recluse at the expense of your long term goals is just as much of a hindrance as procrastination. Strive for  a balance. Set an hour or two a day to do what you enjoy! I find a workout in between my revision sessions resets my mind and motivates me to push on with my tasks.

Suggestion 4:
Set standards and maintain them
Understanding what you are worth and what you are willing to accept is key to any form of success. An expectation I have recently placed on myself is 'nothing less than my best'. Standards are the focal point of any behaviour or decision so consciously becoming aware of these standards may help you make better decisions that have your long term goals in mind.

I hope these suggestions are useful to you. If you have any other suggestions in regards to maximising productivity  then by all means let me know! I will post my social media accounts below.

As always my work is inspired by things that I am currently reading. 'Suggestion 4' is talked about in more detail in Anthony Robbins 'Awaken The Giant Within' - I highly recommend it if you are interested in increasing the quality of every aspect of your life.

(EXPERIENCE) Connect With You: Dealing With Regret

One of the greatest tragedies that I can think of is reflecting on yourself and feeling regretful. 'I wish I did this instead of...' 'I wish I told this person how I REALLY felt...' 'I wish I could have done...' We all experience regret at some point in our lives, and it is at this point that we should look deep into our feelings and question why we walked down a path that we knew deep down couldn't accommodate for our needs and wants. Every day that we are gifted with is an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and our truest, deepest desires and wants. We spend all day trying to impress the same people that evidently do not deserve our energy because they give nothing in return. We spend time developing relationships with these people instead of taking the time to delve deep and meet the purest version of ourselves, unfiltered from what exists outside our being, outside of our expectations. The world that we experience is a result of the fe

(BUSINESS) Altiefe Presents Launching An Idea Part 2: The Passionate Area

Welcome to the second article of this ‘Launching an Idea’ series. In the first article, we looked at identifying a driving force (available to read here ), today we are going to be looking at transferring that driving force over to a passionate area. What is a passionate area? Passionate area: A creative pursuit that a person feels most comfortable and most free to operate within. This is usually a specific area within a wider discipline/creative pursuit e.g. A fashion vlogger . Chances are, if you're reading this article you have an idea of what it is you want to do or where abouts your creative idea is going to be situated – the passionate area is a little more specific, though. To give this article some context, a friend of mine is a fantastic music producer. He can produce a number of different genres of electronic music and has found success in most of them but his main passionate area is within dubstep. Now, some of you may hear dubstep and go ‘yuck!’ b

(EXPERIENCE) What Meditation Has Taught Me: The Importance Of The Present

I have been recently delving into the discipline of meditation. I aim to practice only ten minutes a day, everyday. I would like to share with you perhaps my biggest breakthrough regarding meditation - the importance of the present. As a young creative, I am constantly looking either forwards  into the future visualing my goals or backwards  into the past - learning from my mistakes.  I found that through practice, particularly in guided meditation that I was ignoring arguably the most important time frame - the now . It suddenly dawned on me. In order to bring my future aspirations into fruition I have to examine my actions in the present moment to ensure that they fit with what I aim to achieve in the future . The same applies for my past - in order to ensure that I am learning from any mistake or painful experience, I have to be cognisant of what I am doing in the now to ensure that I am truly implementing changes from what I have learned from the past into my present day ac
